Research Interest

Apollonia Arellano is a doctoral student in the Geochemistry division of the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. She is advised by Jerry McManus and is studying paleoceanography. Apollonia received her B.S. in Environmental Earth and Soil Sciences with a concentration in Geology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Apollonia’s research involves conducting geochemical analyses of marine sediment cores to reveal North Atlantic Ocean conditions during the late Pleistocene. She is especially interested in the role of ocean circulation in abrupt climate change. Outside of the lab, Apollonia enjoys reading and spending time in nature.
