Tavehon “TJ” McGarry graduated with a BA in Environmental Chemistry from Columbia College. TJ’s scientific interests include trying to understand chemistry of aqueous environments, particularly those that impact toxic heavy metals groundwater and staple crops, as well as atmospheric chemistry in regards to air quality and how it pertains to public exposure. Outside of TJ’s scientific interests he really enjoy a variety of activities and subjects: going to parks and playing sports; watching movies and learning to cook new foods; reading books about history and anthropology and also going salsa dancing with his friends. TJ also loves to travel and learn new languages, as well as go to concerts and comedy shows. TJ will be working with Steven Chillrud and Ben Bostick.
