Sai Deepak Pinakana is a PhD student at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University, working with Dr. Dan Westervelt. His research focuses on integrating data from satellite remote sensing and low-cost sensor networks to investigate the sources and distribution of air pollutants in urban environments. He recently earned his Master of Science in Agricultural, Environmental, and Sustainability Sciences from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he combined ground-based air quality monitoring with NASA satellite data from GOES-R and MODIS to assess the impacts of stubble burning on air quality in the Rio Grande Valley region of South Texas. Sai is passionate about making air quality data more accessible and actionable.
