Biography

I am a geophysicist whose research revolves around vertical motions of the Earth’s surface. I have worked on vertical motions due to sea level, tectonics, isostasy, and compaction at both rifted continental margins and subduction zones using a broad variety of field and numerical methods. I have been working in Bangladesh on the tectonics of the IndoBurma subduction zone, subsidence and sea level rise in the Ganges-Brahmaputra Delta, and the interaction of the two. Other recent projects include transtensional tectonics in Turkey, and sea level changes and stratigraphy offshore NJ.
