Bio
Gabriel Mangum Lehmann is a PhD student in the Paleomagnetics Lab at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. He is interested in using marine sediments to reconstruct the history and past behavior of the geomagnetic field. He also uses paleomagnetic techniques to develop stratigraphies for marine sediment cores from polar regions, and he is working on data analysis methods for stratigraphic correlation and interpretation of paleomagnetic records. Gabriel graduated from the Dual BA Program between Trinity College Dublin and Columbia University in 2024, completing a thesis studying glacial-interglacial changes to Southern Ocean circulation using a combination of geochemical approaches. In his free time, he enjoys making electronic music, playing the cello, and cooking.
