Research Interest

Biography

Terry Plank, a proud alumna, joined the DEES faculty in 2008. Her research focuses on the volatile contents of magmas, timescales of magma ascent and eruption, recycling of material at subduction zones, and mantle melting regions. Her tools are geochemical, and field work has taken her to Alaska, Nicaragua, Italy, and to sea. She is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union, the American Mineralogical Society, the Geochemical Society, and the Geological Society of America.
