Raf is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Columbia University studying cryospheric processes on ice sheets. His work is focused on exploring the physical processes underlying albedo on the Greenland Ice Sheet using remote sensing data and regional climate model output. He also uses GIA modeling and tide gauge data to study the ice margin evolution of the Greenland Ice Sheet during the Holocene as related to sea level change. Outside of his scientific work, Raf is a fervent rock climber and outdoor enthusiast.
